We’re just weeks away from the Apple Special Event in September when Apple is set to unveil its newest iPhone models. Ahead of the event, iPhone case maker Olixar has published a slew of new cases, iPhone model names, and even cases that offer some form of Apple Pencil support. Here’s everything you need to know.
With rumors about the iPhone 11 swirling around for months, we’ve barely heard anything regarding any type of Apple Pencil support on the new models. Furthermore, rumors have pointed to Apple releasing three iPhone models this year, all successors to the current Xs, Xs Max, and Xr lineup. But, according to Olixar’s webpage, there are cases for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max, iPhone 11R, and an iPhone 11 Pro.
Olixar says they’ll offer a collection of thin, hard, and wallet cases, for the new iPhone 11, 11 Max, and 11R at launch. But, the most impressive collection of cases are for the alleged high-end iPhone 11 Pro; all offer an Apple Pencil cover on the rear.
The holder isn’t large enough to fit either the 1st or 2nd generation Apple Pencil, leading Olixar to believe Apple has developed a smaller Apple Pencil model for the alleged iPhone 11 Pro.
We’ve heard rumors of Apple potentially adding Apple Pencil support to the higher-end iPhone models, but those reports don’t offer much in terms of track-record for Apple releases.
According to 9to5Mac, “this seems to be the first we’ve spotted and we wouldn’t put much faith in it.”
On Olixar’s webpage, most of the cases are “Due In Stock Soon,” so they’re not readily available for purchase. The iPhone 11 Pro cases are priced at $24.99, significantly cheaper than what Apple may offer.
What are your thoughts on Apple Pencil coming to iPhone? Do you think reserving the Apple Pencil to only the higher-end iPhone is a good idea on Apple’s part? Chime in below.
