MacRumors got themselves hands-on with the rumored iPhone XI case with the current iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR. These prototype cases came from case manufacturers who pitched in with Apple suppliers to get design information about the next iPhones. They consist of the cases for iPhone XI, iPhone XI Max and the successor of iPhone XR. Let’s take a look at these cases that suggest the next design of the iPhone.
Firstly, the aforementioned iPhones will depict the same proportions as of the current iPhones. These include the screen sizes of 5.8 inches, 6.5 inches, and 6.1 inches, respectively. The iPhone XI and XI Max will remain the OLED Super Retina displays and the next iPhone XR continues to have a Liquid Retina LCD display and a price lower than the iPhone XI. On the other side, these iPhones will have a triangular, triple-lens camera along with a LED flash.
Secondly, the square-shaped camera cutout suggests on the new, triangular triple camera on these upcoming iPhones. All of these iPhones will have a back made out of one sheet of glass, making the camera streamlined and flat than a protruding bump. Each camera consists of a 12MP telephoto lens, 12MP wide-angle lens, and a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens. The ultra wide-angle lens is perfect for a wider field of view and perspective to scenery photos taken on the iPhone.
Lastly, the cases MacRumors tried on their devices fit perfectly, with the exception of the upcoming square camera hole. Besides the camera, there is no other evidence that there will be major changes to design. There is going to be internal and minor changes throughout the iPhone XI and the next iPhone XR, which varies from bilateral charging, slightly thicker chassis, and silent switch position.
All of the above gives us a closer look at the next iPhone’s design, from the outside. The central changes of the cases are the squared camera holes and the modifications to the volume buttons on the iPhone, whilst not having too much significance in the design. We all know that the iPhone XS’ and XR’s sizes are the same length and width, with the exception of the thickness being a tad bit more than the current iPhones. Therefore, we are looking forward to this new design change in the next few months, when these new devices are available.
