What to Expect for Apple’s 2019 Spring Event

It’s the time again for Apple to release new products this spring. Apple usually releases iPads, new accessories in spring colors, and many smaller releases in March. We should expect Apple to release the iPad mini 5th generation, a 10 inch iPad 7th generation, and Apple News Magazines.

To begin with, the iPad 7th generation will still hold on to its Touch ID home button and the same chassis as the iPad 6th generation. Evidence from Japanese Apple news website Macotakara found out that the iPad 7th generation will not have a paradoxical design to the current 6th generation iPad. There’s still the 3.5 mm headphone jack, home button, and the only change goes to the slimming of the bezels. This implies that the bezels will be slightly similar to the 2017 iPad Pro, with a screen size of 10 inches.

Not only the iPad 7th generation is the only iPad Apple will be announcing, but the iPad mini 5 will be rolling out this spring. The characteristics are the same as the current iPad mini 4, but it’ll follow the same rules of the rumored iPad 7th generation. Some developers looked through the code of the iOS 12.2 beta and there’s no evidence of the two iPads having support for Face ID. There may be Apple Pencil support, and a new gold color to match the gold aluminum of 2017-18 Apple products. Both of the iPads are not getting a USB-C port.

Aside from the iPads, there are rumors about AirPods 2. In light of beta testing iOS 12.2, there’s a leak that in the AirPods setup screen, it’ll prompt you to set up “Hey Siri” on your iPhone. According to MySmartPrice, the next AirPods will have an anti-slip coating and a black coating. In addition, Kuo states that the next AirPods will have extended range and improvements in Bluetooth connectivity. Wireless charging is soon going to be implemented to the AirPods 2 charging case, or sold as a standalone accessory. Health monitoring in the AirPods can be a plus, as it can monitor steps and calories.

Next, Apple’s News subscription services have been recently leaked in a macOS 10.14.4 beta. Developer Steve Troughton-Smith first discovered this leak in a notification from the Apple News app. He believes that it’s a clue that the release of the service is coming near.

Finally, the AirPower is what we’ve been longing for, since the iPhone X event in 2017. It’s already a year since we’ve been longing for this product to come out. The AirPower charging mat can charge up to 3 devices, including the next Apple Watch Series 5 and AirPods. We should expect this product to release this time without any delays.

The Apple special event on March 25th consists of many products to announce. We’re very excited for Apple to release the new iPad, their subscription services, AirPods, and AirPower this spring.
