According to some Apple Music subscribers, they received an email from Apple that allows them to refer a friend to Apple Music and they’ll receive a one-month subscription for free. Here’s everything we know.
Today, Apple has sent out notifications to Apple Music subscribers that allows them to send a referral to a friend to sign up with Apple Music to receive a free one-month subscription to the service.
There is one caveat, though. According to Apple, referrals for a free month of service can only be sent to people who do not already subscribe to Apple Music.
The offer is applied to the account when the new subscriber signs up. Furthermore, it can be used to extend the existing three-month subscription Apple already gives new subscribers, effectively giving them four-months of service. It will automatically renew at $9.99/month after the four months unless canceled.
According to MacRumors, “Not all Apple Music users appear to be getting these notifications at this time.” So, if you’re a current subscriber, be patient as Apple may send you a referral email.
Originally launched on June 30, 2015, Apple Music is Apple’s attempt at a music streaming service to go head-to-head with Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Play Music, Pandora, and Tidal.
