Earlier today, Apple officially launched the redesigned Smart Battery case for the iPhone Xs, Xs Max, and Xr. Each case can be had for US $129 and comes in only, Black or White. Here’s everything we know about the Smart Battery case.
Early Tuesday, Apple officially launched its much anticipated Smart Battery case for iPhone Xs, Xs Max, and Xr. The redesign features a sleeker battery design and vertical camera orientation. Gone is the hump found on the 6/6s/7 case. The case still features the same silicone exterior, microfiber lined interior, and an elastomer hinge that minimizes hassle when putting your iPhone in the case.
According to Apple, “The Smart Battery Case is compatible with Qi-certified chargers. You can charge your iPhone and battery case simultaneously for increased talk time up to 39 hours, Internet use up to 22 hours, and even longer audio and video playback.” Furthermore adding, “The case can be charged even faster with USB-PD compatible chargers. It also supports Lightning accessories, such as the EarPods with Lightning Connector (included with your iPhone), or the Lightning Digital AV Adapter (sold separately).”
The Smart Battery case for the iPhone Xs gives you an additional talk time up to 33 hours, Internet use up to 21 hours, and 25 hours of video. The iPhone Xs Max case gives you an additional talk time up to 37 hours, Internet use up to 20 hours, and 25 hours of video. Lastly, the iPhone Xr case gives you an increased talk time up to 39 hours, Internet use up to 22 hours, and 27 hours of video.
Each case retails for US $129, and only available in Black or White despite the Xr being available in multiple colors. If you order now, it will ship Friday, January 18th. It will be available in store on the same day.
