As scheduled, Apple officially released the watchOS 5.0.1 system update today, just 10 days before the release of watchOS 5. Users can update the system for their watches in the Apple Watch app on the iPhone, and they need to have at least 50% of the battery and they need to be placed on the charger.
The watchOS 5.0.1 update is a minor update that fixes various bugs discovered since the release of watchOS 5. According to Apple’s release notes, watchOS 5.0.1 solves a problem that causes “small users” an incorrect increase in exercise minutes. It also fixes a bug that causes users to fail to track standing results during the afternoon, as well as an issue that would not allow it to charge normally.
This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:
Fixes an issue that caused a small number of users to see an increase in exercise minutes
Addresses an issue that caused some users to not receive Stand credit in the afternoon
Fixes an issue that could prevent Apple Watch from charging
