Ever since the iPhone Xs marketing image was leaked, people went crazy about its naming scheme, some say the 6.5-inch OLED model would be called iPhone Xs Plus or iPhone Xs Pro. However, according to 9to5mac’s sources, Apple may refer to the 6.5-inch OLED iPhone as the iPhone Xs Max. This means that this year’s two OLED iPhones will be called iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max.
Starting with the iPhone 6, Apple began to introduce two different sizes of iPhone, and differentiated with “Plus”. After this year, the bigger screen iPhone models may use Max to distinguish it, instead of “Plus”. As for the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, we didn’t know what it could be called, perhaps iPhone 9?
Apple is on track to announced the iPhone Xs along with iPhone Xs Max, iPhone 9, and Apple Watch Series 4 models on September 12, at a 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time event that’s set to be held at Apple Park’s Steve Jobs Theater.
