A new leak that shows off a case for an upcoming, refreshed iPad Pro shows off the new location for a smart connector.

With the Apple September Event only weeks away, many are getting antsy as to how the new devices will look, and what new features and design they will have. The most anticipated device is the refreshed 2018 iPad Pro models, and specifically the 10.5′-inch model.

Based on various leaks in the past several months, we can expect the new iPad Pro models to feature an iPhone X style design, smaller bezels, a top-notch with Face ID replacing Touch ID, removal of the headphone jack, and the smart connector being relocated to possibly take advantage of new accessories.

In a recent leak by Slashleaks, an alleged 10.5-inch iPad Pro case was leaked and features a cut-out at the bottom, likely the location for the new smart connector.

The cover appears to be constructed of plastic and retains all the standard iPad Pro button and camera locations, for the exception of the pill-shape connector at the bottom above the lightning charge port.

The only issue would be the placement of the new connector versus the current gen model. The current gen model has the smart connector on the side, allowing you to dock the iPad Pro on a keyboard sideways. I am wondering how the placement of this new smart connector would affect how you use a keyboard, but, I can guess that the current keyboard Apple offers is soon to be obsolete.

We can expect to see updated iPad Pro models and any accompanying accessories at the September Apple Event in a few weeks.
