Apple Has Officially Discontinued Its AirPort Wireless Router Lineups

Apple has announced it’s official existing from the wireless router business, and has discontinued its current AirPort series products, including AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule, while continuing to sell the series at the original price.

We’re discontinuing the Apple AirPort base station products. They will be available through Apple.com, Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last.

However, we are being told that the company would continue to provide hardware and software support for at least the next five years. But you won’t experience the latest Wi-Fi technologies like the 802.11ad & 802.11ax.

Apple first introduced the AirPort wireless router lineup back in 1999, the products have indeed helped rise of the Home WiFi markets. Shockingly, in 2016, Apple is being reported that it disbanded its router unit and stopped the development of these routers.
